Looking to be part of creating a sustainable future? Gympie Landcare Management Committee is a dynamic group seeking to make a difference to our environment and community. We are a progressive organisation currently undergoing substantial transformation and are seeking a like-minded proactive and passionate Board Secretary (Executive role).

Candidates can be located outside of the Wide Bay Region as meeting attendance is predominantly via video conference.

Our Organisation

Gympie Landcare is an NFP community-oriented environmental organisation whose vision is to support a healthy and self-sustaining biosphere. Structured as a social enterprise, our organisation consists of both staff and volunteers and provides environmental regeneration services, biological control, soil services, and a large wholesale/retail nursery. We supply to the Wide Bay Region and beyond.

Gympie Landcare is currently in an exciting growth phase:

  • Renewing and expanding our community education and engagement program, aiming to support both environmental and community resilience;
  • Moving into Carbon and Bio-diversity off-set programs; and
  • Accelerating the uptake of regenerative agricultural practices across the state.

We are looking for someone with a legal background or may have previously been in an NFP Executive role, or experience/ trained as a company secretary. A detailed position description of the role can be found Here

Submit your expression of interest by sending a resume and a cover letter addressing the following:

  1. Describe your legal experience and how you applied your legal capability.
  2. Describe your financial literacy and how you have relied on this capability
  3. What special interests will you bring to Gympie Landcare. e.g. project management, Human Resources, marketing, governance, strategy development, fundraising, volunteering, etc.
  4. Describe your environmental aspirations.

Applications will be reviewed by a panel and shortlisted candidates will be asked to interview during 6-10 March 2023.
