Farm Finances Workshop – 12 June 2019, 9am-4pm

Come along to our Farm Finances Workshop on 12 June 2019 to learn everything you need to know for your farm’s financial practices.

Barry Lambooy is a retired Chartered Accountant with experience in a number of industries including Agriculture. Barry understands the problems farmers’ face as he has previously owned his own small farm, he’s been the General Manager of a large Farmers Co-operative and has also been a senior Manager in a Department of Agriculture.

Farm finances are a problem for most farmers and their partners. Barry hopes to de-mystify the subject and try to give you an appreciation of how accounting can assist you in running your enterprise.

To this, we will start off by discussing various legal structures, both private and corporate. This will give Barry a good idea of what needs to be concentrated on for the rest of the course.

The one-day course will cover:

  • Private and Corporate Structures;
  • Basic principles of bookkeeping;
  • Farmers cashbook;
  • Benefits of record keeping;
  • Income Statement;
