The Gympie Landcare premises came alive with families enjoying an afternoon of kids activities, Landcare talks and delicious food from our vendors. When asked if we should host this event again the patrons overwhelmingly agreed that it was well worth coming out for as kids and parents alike learnt about Landcare and their role in it. Many people came to meet up with friends and we were privileged to have some of the original members of Landcare join us to celebrate our 30th year in the Region. Many of our friends from other like-minded organisations joined in the fun sharing their important messages with the patrons.
“It was marvellous to see so many people at our site, laughing, learning and showing interest in what Landcare does”, said Gympie Landcare president Ernie Rider. “As an organisation, we cannot achieve land care without the help of the people who own and manage the land. In the future, we hope to reach and support more people both the backyard gardeners and farmers. There is much to do and learn when it comes to sustainable land care practices”.
