Our team, Jon, Keith, Tim, Hayley, and our newest staff member Nakkita, haven’t stopped since The Mary River flooded in January, helping Gympie Regional Council and The Mary River Catchment Coordinating Committee clean up the aftermath.

This work is important in restoring and preserving the banks of the Mary River, as well as ensuring minimal topsoil and sediment loss from our catchment area of around 9500kms out to the Great Barrier Reef.

It was devastating to see some of our native trees and vegetation lost to these latest flooding events. However, it is fantastic to note that a lot of the work we have been doing has prevented erosion, silt and topsoil loss. The team will be busy helping with the clean-up of the Mighty Mary and restoring vegetation once again when these current weather systems pass.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of a stroll down the Mary River Trail, you must put it on your “to do” list, once the area is safe and open again.
Be sure to say G’day to the E & C team when you see them.
We will get through this Gympie!
